BREAST IMPLANT TYPES

Breast Implant Types

For the past 30 years, Mentor has been recognized globally as a leading manufacturer of high-quality breast implants. Our rich history is filled with industry firsts, innovative product designs, and groundbreaking research. While other manufacturers come and go, Mentor has consistently produced the most extensive range of technological advancements in breast augmentation products, meeting or exceeding stringent quality and testing standards.

There are two primary types of breast implants:

  • Silicone gel-filled breast implants
  • Saline-filled breast implants

Silicone Gel-Filled Breast Implants

Mentor uses cohesive, safe, and aesthetically pleasing gels in all implants. We offer filler materials in three degrees of cohesion:

  • Cohesive I, the softest gel felt.
  • Cohesive II, slightly firmer.
  • Cohesive III, Mentor’s firmest gel.

The Contour Profile gel is filled with the most cohesive gel to maintain its natural shape.

Saline-Filled Breast Implants

Saline-filled breast implants are filled with a saltwater solution similar to the fluid that makes up much of the human body during surgery. One of the most challenging decisions for many women is choosing the size of their implants. Mentor’s round and Contour Profile Spectrum implants are single, saline-filled implants with a removable filling tube that your doctor can use to adjust your implant size by adding or removing saline through this filling tube for up to six months after the procedure.

Implant Shapes

Based on the breast shape you expect to achieve, you and your doctor can choose between round or contoured implants. Contoured implants have a shape similar to a drop and can provide a more natural appearance to patients. Mentor breast implants come in different projection degrees: moderate, moderate plus, and high. High-profile implants are an excellent choice for women wanting more projection and with a narrow chest wall.

Implant Surfaces

Breast implant surfaces can be smooth or textured. Smooth-surfaced implants have a slightly softer shell and are less likely to be felt through the skin. Mentor’s textured-surface implants are called Siltex.

Options for Everyone

Here, you can see pictures and names of all Mentor breast implant products. Your doctor can explain different features and benefits and discuss with you which type of implant is the right choice for you.

Recovery

Every woman’s recovery process is different. Generally, you might experience discomfort for several days after breast implant surgery. The first 24 to 72 hours after the procedure will likely be your most uncomfortable period. Your breasts will be swollen and highly sensitive. While every woman’s recovery varies, you’ll likely be able to engage in light activities after about one week.

During a significant part of your recovery, wearing a postoperative bra or a special compression garment may be recommended. These are designed to provide you with extra support while healing. Your doctor can provide specific recommendations during your recovery. If you experience any issues after your breast implant surgeries, contact your doctor immediately.

Mentor Lifetime Replacement Policy

Your decision to use Mentor breast augmentation implants is a personal and long-term one. Supporting your decision, Mentor stands behind a lifetime replacement policy as you may not use breast implants for your entire lifetime.
